There’s a lot of pressure around organising a wedding. You need to plan a long way in advance. There’s the venue to book, the guest list to whittle down, the caterers to choose and, of course, the decision over what you’re going to wear when you tie the knot.

Good to Know recently surveyed couples to find out what song they selected for their first dance and whether any of them would change their minds now.

Over half (54 per cent) of those questioned said that they’d choose a different song now to the one they selected for their nuptials.

At the top of the list of wedding songs was ‘Wonderful Tonight’ by Eric Clapton. Paul Weller’s ‘You Do Something To Me’ was in second place, with ‘Hero’ by Enrique Inglesias in at number three.

Other songs to make the top ten included ‘From This Moment’ by Shania Twain, ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E King and ‘Power of Love’ by Jennifer Rush.

But it seems that many couples would swap their classic wedding song choice for something by a modern artist. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ed Sheeran features in the list of songs people would choose now.

His tunes ‘Perfect’ and ‘Thinking Out Loud’ are in the first and second spots respectively. ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol is in third place. The top five is completed by ‘She Will Be Loved’ by Maroon 5 and ‘One’ by U2.
