Celebrity guard dog Odin, who has appeared in the likes of Game of Thrones and King Arthur, has just helped his security team thwart an illegale near Dovestone Reservoir, helping to send over 40 would-be ravers on their way.

According to the Oldham Times, canary mastiff Odin is a rescue dog from Spain, with the breed originally used for working livestock. He and five other dogs accompanied a private security firm on patrols around farm roads to help prevent a large-scale planned illegal gathering from taking place.

Chief Inspector Claire Galt said: ““I’d like to thank the support of the public as we continue to investigate and prevent these gatherings. Such events are illegal; their organisers irresponsible and events like this have in the past been linked to serious violent disorder and drugs use.”

Serious disorder has been linked to raves held in Carrington and Oldham in June, with the police carefully monitoring events of this kind. Anyone with information relating to planned illegal events is encouraged to call police on 101 or get in touch with Crimestoppers to make an anonymous report.
