Have a clearout

Your first step towards creating a calm space is to go through all the drawers and cabinets to see what surplus products you have.

Of course, you don’t want to be wasteful so use up any half-finished bottles or give away ones that you know you’ll never use. Also take out anything that you think shouldn’t be in the bathroom in the first place, such as medication – some of which can suffer in humid conditions.

 

Keep the surfaces clear

Nothing will make a small bathroom feel even smaller than by having crowded surfaces everywhere. Make sure that everything has its proper place and that you tidy the room after a shower, hiding shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a drawer or tucked away in a corner.

 

Don’t go mad with the home decor

It’s always tempting when redoing the bathroom or any other part of the house to get a bit giddy with the decorating, but if your room is on the small side you’d be wise to keep decorative accessories to a minimum. Too many items and you run the risk of serious clutter again!
