Man Died After Climbing Drainpipe To Get Into Own Flat

An inquest into the death of a young musician who died in June this year has ruled that his death was accidental.

The Islington Gazette reported that Dean Martin Laskowski, who was a rapper who went by the name of Lxsko, died after falling from the roof of his flat, which was five floors up. He suffered multiple injuries in the accident, which happened in the early hours of 9 June this year.

However, the coroner revealed that Mr Laskowski had climbed a drainpipe outside his building to reach his fifth-floor flat because he had lost his keys and was locked out.

Mary Hassell, senior coroner at St Pancras Coroner’s Court, ruled that his death was “a terrible accident”.

“He climbed up a drainpipe and tried to get in via a balcony but that was locked from the inside, so he climbed up onto the roof and tried to get in from the other side of building. At that point he fell to the floor below,” she said.

Speaking to give evidence at the inquest, Mr Laskowski’s uncle Richard Laskowski and his friend Isaac Dobiro described him as happy and positive about the direction his life was taking.

This tragic incident could easily have been avoided and is a terrible reminder of why it’s important to think carefully about what you do if you lose your keys and find you’re locked out of your home.

It’s far better to call a 24 hour locksmith in Nottingham, or wherever you live, rather than risking injury or death by trying to get into your property some other way.

Helping you get back into your home if you’re locked out isn’t the only way in which locksmiths can be of assistance. They can also repair damaged locks, and will be able to help you if your key breaks in your lock, for instance.
