A survey of married Brits has revealed what they’d most like to change about their big day if they were to do it all over again.

One of the top things those surveyed would change is their choice of venue for their nuptials. The Mirror reported on the research by Mercure, which also found that 12 per cent of brides would choose a different dress to wear down the aisle and 16 per cent even said that they’d be meeting someone different at the altar.

Other reasons for re-running a wedding include to have new friends celebrate with the couple, and being able to do things better because they’re in a better financial position now than when they originally tied the knot.

Wedding planner at Mercure Charlotte Hill commented: “Regardless of time, finances and good will, the pressure and complexity of having the perfect wedding can mean our big day doesn’t go exactly how we’d like.”

She added that it’s understandable that couples might want to re-do their wedding “knowing what they know now”.

Encouragingly, although there were minor regrets, ten per cent of those surveyed still find memories of their wedding day popping into their heads every few weeks.
