Residents might be inclined to call out a Nottingham residential locksmith to make sure their home is properly secured after three people were arrested for burglary in the local area.
A 20-year-old was taken into police custody on suspicion of burglary, theft and dangerous driving after crashing a stolen Audi TT on Monday (November 19th).
He was among three occupants in the vehicle when it collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at 18:28 in Bells Lane. The other two – a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman – were also arrested for burglary and theft, with the former being detained for dangerous driving as well.
Nottinghamshire Police were first suspicious of their actions after they received a report of a stolen Audi TT at 17:54 before finding it in Broxtowe Lane shortly after at 18:24. They were then involved in a chase to try and stop the culprits.
After failing to brake for the police, the vehicle crashed with a car before also hitting the Corsa, leaving two of the suspected thieves with serious injuries, as well as the driver of the Vauxhall, a 53-year-old woman.
All three suspected thieves remain in police custody as they try and investigate the incident and find out more about their actions in the lead up to their arrest.
The police have since arrested the 20-year-old not just with a house and vehicle theft and dangerous driving, but also in connection with two stabbings in Hucknall and Bulwell.
Nottingham residents will be relieved to hear that two teenagers have also been charged by police in connection with a burglary on University Park in September, following a media appeal.
After seeing CCTV footage on Facebook, two members of the public contacted the force and they were then able to trace a 16-year-old and 17-year-old who were later charged with burglary and theft.
