The Best Worst Gardening Trends Revealed

If you were wondering what gardening trends to adopt at home and which to avoid like the plague, you would perhaps be wise to familiarise yourself with the results of a new piece of research from Drapers Tools, revealing that coniferous trees and fake grass are among the worst of them all.

The study also found that trampolines, hot tubs, wind chimes, gnomes and fences painted with orange wood stain were among those most-hated of all trends, Metro reports… but some of the best were meadow areas, hedgehog homes and bumblebee nest boxes.

Other garden features that came out on top included summer houses, decking, vegetable patches, bird features, herb gardens, outdoor kitchens and living walls.

Head of marketing at Draper Tools Kev Smith was quoted by the news source as saying: “The research goes to show just how passionate we are about our gardens – clearly those polled have pretty strong opinions on what works and what doesn’t.

“However gardens are a very personal thing and what is right for one person isn’t necessarily right for another, so if you’re happy with your garden then that’s all that matters.”

With the weather improving and summer just around the corner, now’s the time to look at your outdoor spaces and see if there’s anything you can do to give them a bit of a makeover so you want to spend more time outside as a family.
