Time To Introduce Black And White Prints To Your Home?

When you think of interior design, it’s easy to get caught up in the big changes you can make to your home to alter its appearance.

However, there are a host of small things you can do to lift a room and change the way it looks, without the disruption of a large-scale redecorating or remodelling project.

The Seattle Times recently highlighted some of the top home design trends to watch this year. Among them was black and white prints and photos. “Instead of solely using abstract artwork in a space, consider incorporating black and white photography as a creative and interesting alternative to traditional artwork,” the publication stated.

This could be the perfect excuse to print some of your favourite photos to bring a more personal touch to your decor. If you take them for picture framing in north London, you can choose a frame that will perfectly complement the black and white imagery.

Although you could buy professional black and white photographic prints, sometimes it’s nice to display something that has your own memories associated with it.

In fact, Cosmopolitan recently pointed out that maximalism is one of the top interior design trends this year, adding that including photography and art is a great way to embrace this trend.

Nina Bailey, design manager for Formica Group, told the magazine that this is the perfect way to decorate your home if you want to showcase different elements of your life. She recommended combining “slightly mismatched” art, textiles, trinkets and other objects to “paint a story of a life and spark memories”.
